It begins

I'm sure there are a number of different ways that people come to find Eve Online, and try it out. Not sure that my path is common. It started with Facebook, of all things. My first pseudo-MMORG was MafiaWars, which I tried in a moment of boredom after a Facebook update. I enjoyed it, and mentioned it to someone at work. They laughed at the idea that MafiaWars was a real MMORG. So that got me started looking around to see what a real MMORG might be like.

I found an article describing the destruction of the Band of Brothers alliance. Not sure it was the one linked here, but that will give you a flavor of what I learned. I was interested enough to look around for more articles, and found any number of them. What I learned was enough to convince me to give it a try.

Five months later, I've reached the point where Capsuleer is by far my most used iPhone app, and downtime is my least favorite part of the day. If you're an Eve player as well, you know exactly what I mean.

There's an excellent community of Eve bloggers out there who I enjoy reading tremendously. I've learned a lot about the game from the group, we'll see if I can contribute something as well.
